History
When the Regional Assistance Mission to Solomon Islands began on 24 July 2003, its policing arm, the Participating Police Force, drew officers from Australia and across the Pacific to serve alongside the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force, rebuilding law and order through fourteen years of patient partnership. When the mission ended on 30 June 2017, the RSIPF struck its own thanks: the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force International Law Enforcement Cooperation Medal, for the international police who stood with it.
The medal recognises a cumulative total of 180 days of diligent service with the RAMSI Participating Police Force between those dates, and Australian Federal Police members, who formed the mission's backbone, are among its principal holders. On AFP uniform the force's wear guide places it among the foreign jurisdiction awards, after the Australian jurisdiction medals, and its presence on a rack marks one of the Pacific's defining policing partnerships.

The medal recognises international police who supported the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force through the Regional Assistance Mission to Solomon Islands.
- Eligibility requires a cumulative total of 180 days of diligent service with the RAMSI Participating Police Force between 24 July 2003 and 30 June 2017;
